Our Beautiful Tapa Cloths, By Room 5

This term we have been learning about Transformations in Maths. During these last two weeks we have been making Tapa Patterns using these elements: Reflection, Rotation and Translation. Check out our Tapa Patterns which show Rotation and Reflection in this Animoto Presentation. These photographs were taken of the early finishers. There are more to come.

Using a Google Form

Have a go at adding your answer to this weeks literacy maths problem onto this Google Form. Press submit at the end so Miss Paton can work out who has made the most combinations.


Literacy Maths: How many ways can you make $10

How many ways can you make $10? Remember to you can you use coins and notes to make up the combination $10. The coins are: 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, $1 and $2. The notes are $5. You can not say $3 + $7. We do not have notes with these amounts on, but you can use a mixture of coins and notes to make $10.

Literacy Maths: Pocket Money

Here is a Maths problem that relates well to our current topic on Money. Have a go at working out how much money Sally and David earn from Mum. The answer to this problem will be given out on Friday. So have those strategies ready.
