How far will your jet propelled Cable Car travel?

This week we have been making jet propelled cable cars. We first made a rectangular prism and a triangular prism. We glued the prisms together to make a cable car. From there we had to thread a fishing line through a straw, stick the cable car onto the straw and blow up a balloon really big. We attached the blown up balloon to the cable car and let it take off. Tyler did really well with his cable car with a distance of 8 metres. Piripi's, Kifi's, Pace's and Miss Chapman's cable cars travelled the same distance which was 7 metres. Fine's cable car travelled the shortest distance which was 3 metres. It was a fun activity letting the balloon off and measuring whose cable car travelled the furthest.

This is my rubric on my presentation By Nicola

This is how I did on my presentation which is below this post, except Asmah and I had to present our presentation in front of the class. When the time had come where We had to show everyone our presentation I was nervous and yet excited. I think that I need to work on remembering the information so I don't have to repetitively look at my cue cards, though I think that I looked at my cards half as much as some people would. I also believe that I should work on a loud voice, so everyone can hear me. This our ( Asmah's and I's ) presentation on Eid, I have learnt so much and you will too, that's if you read this presentation.

My Fantastic Time At Eastern Beach. By Asmah

On Monday February 27th, I was sound asleep just as I was going to go have the best dream. Then my mum woke me up and said Asmah time to go to school. Oh mum do I have to, Yes she said don`t you want to go on the trip. What trip? I said. “The Eastern beach trip” my mum said. I quickly jumped out of my bed and quickly got dressed. I ran as fast as I could to school. I was worried that the teachers and the students already went to Eastern beach with out me.

When I reached room 5, I was amazed that I was early. I hung my bag and sat down on the carpet. Soon Miss Paton did the roll. After Miss Paton did the roll she took out a clip board from her bag. Soon everybody lined outside.

Next the whole school was waiting at the drive way for the bus. The bus took forever, then a few minutes we saw a bus but that was not the school bus . I felt like the bus would never arrive. Finally the bus came, when I got up my legs were in pain.
Soon we reached Eastern beach. Then Ms Kirkpatrick and Mr Johnston told whole school where we were allowed and how far we are allowed in the water. Ms Kirkpatrick also told us that there is another school here.

After Ms Kirkpatrick and Mr Johnston finished talking we had our morning tea. Next rooms 1, 2,3 and 4 went in the water first for a swim. Then Mr Johnston said “Room 5 time to do life jackets with Mr Nepia”. The water was so cold that it felt like ice blocks. My brother and I was not allowed to swim in the water.

When we finished doing the life jackets we went swimming. It was Room 6`s turn. Mr Johnston got in a kayak and went in the water so the students wouldn’t go too far. Mr Johnston explained how to put on the life jackets on.

Soon it was lunch time, I had a healthy burger. Next I played volley ball with Nicky and Katareana. Then I played on the trees and then I played bob it with Dallas, Nicky, Katareana and my little brother.

Soon it was time to go back to school. I had a fantastic time at Eastern beach with my friends and my little brother.

Asmah's Athletics Fun

Hurray!!! it`s Friday it`s the day I was waiting for since Monday. It`s Athletics day. Miss Sayers told the 10 and 11 year olds to do the Jump Jam. Miss Sayers told the 9 year olds to do the high jump.

I was in the 9 year olds group. First it was the boys and then it was the girls. Soon it was the girls turn, I was after Samantha. I felt really nervous when it was my turn.

Next it was time the 9 year olds went to Miss Hiddleston who doing the discus. When it was my turn to throw the discus, I almost threw it the longest out of the girls.

After that we went to Mrs Prasad who was doing shotput. Mrs Prasad told us to line up in fours. Soon it was my turn to do the shotput. I felt really nervous, I didn`t throw it the longest.

Soon Miss Sayers did the siren. That meant it was time to change groups. Next we went to Mrs Huggins who was doing the running. Every one had a turn. The students who came first, second and third got a coloured card that has first, second and third on it.

Soon it was lunch time and the Athletics Sports was finished. I had a great time doing Athletics.

My Treasure By Asmah

This is my treasure that my dad brought from Australia for me.

Asmah's trip to the Museum

My Trip to the Museum

I could hardly wait to go to the Auckland Museum. Rooms 5, 6, 7 and 8 went to the Museum because we were learning about treasures that the Museum had. It was Tuesday November 1st. The parent helpers were Roswell`s Grandma, Jarred and Cody`s Dad, Mrs Kelly and Miss Paton.

When we got off the bus we were looking for the entrance to the Museum but unfortunately they would not let school groups in the Museum. So the senior team and room 8 went to the back entrance of the Museum. When we got in the Museum a worker told us to go upstairs to have our morning tea. After that we went to the Natural Discovery area.

In Miss Paton`s group was Veisinia, Asmah, Viola, Silas, Jonathan and Chantelle. There was an ostrich, a moa and lots of birds, eggs and dinosaur bones. The egg of the moa could hold 60 eggs of a hen.

Next we went to the Land and Sea area. When we got into the Land and Sea area I saw lots of fish. Next we went to the Volcano room. In the Volcano room there was a big T.V. showing a news broadcast. Suddenly the room started to shake. I felt like I was in a real volcano erupting. I felt like screaming but I didn`t, instead I just closed and my ears.

After the Volcano room we had our yummy lunch. After lunch we went to the ground floor where there were lots of Pacifika treasures. In the Pacifika area there were masks, drums and a hawaiian clock.

Next we went to watch a video about the Maori Rugby team. It was set in the olden days.

Soon it was time for Rooms 5, 6, 7 and 8 to go back to school because it was two clock. So every one went into the bus. Room 5 and 6 in one bus and Room 7 and 8 in an other. So we went to school and went home.
I enjoyed my time at the Auckland Museum looking at all the treasures.
