My Netbook Reflection By Angel

Netbook Reflection

How has having a netbook connected to the internet helped my learning this year?

What special thing have you learnt from your teacher this year?
My Teacher Miss Paton has helped me by enabling the Adobe Flash Player to work for Maths Whizz. I have also learnt how to create a Flipping E - Book. Flipsnack is a website where you can create on-line digital E - Books. We first created a presentation and downloaded it as a PDF Document. Then you can create your Flipping E - Book. You can also change the colour, the theme and the layout. Miss Paton also introduced a different website called Fotor.com. It is a website where you can create your own collage. You can also change the colour, effects, the border and add some text.

What significant thing have you learnt all by yourself?
I have learnt how to copy and paste an embed code from Popplet, Wall wisher and other websites, and put in up on my blog to make it interactive.

What have you learnt from your friend this year?
I have learnt from my friend how to open a new tab using a short cut. I have also learnt from my friend how to insert a video from YouTube onto a Presentation I had created.

Fine and Angel's Statistical Investigation: Ethnicities in Room 5

My partner Angel & I worked on our Statistical Investigation today. The whole class were given instructions on how to complete a Statistical Investigation properly. The least amount of Ethnicities in room 5 are Kiribati, Chinese, Burmese, and Afghani. The most amount of students ethnicity is Maori. I think that there are more Maori students in room 5 because Maori's are Native To New Zealand. There were a total of 12 Maori students in Room 5. There is 1 Kiribati, Chinese, Afghani and Burmese student in Room 5.

Our Swamp Presentation By Fine and Angel

Production Goals By Angel

Production Goals

How to move from an OK performance to a Very Good Performance Move from being ZERO to HERO

* Talk slower - EVERYONE
* Look at the audience when we are speaking and acting out our parts
* Use more expression
* Don’t get distracted by the people behind- Cyprus, Thomas, Patrick, Linda, Fine, Angel, Jharda’e, Samantha, Oh S’mar, Jasmine, Jason
* Know the timing off by heart
* Talk louder - Fine, Angel,
* Be confident don’t be shy
* When you hear your cue- act on it.
* Look not laugh when someone makes a mistake
Don’t giggle when someone is acting
* Bodies facing audience, but also looking at the actor beside you - include your audience
* Don’t get distracted when you’re back stage
* Use some actions when you’re talking
* Get ready back stage
* Spread out those who are flowers, mountains, fish,
* Don’t let your class down
* Put lots of effort into the class performance
* Take your role seriously
* Leave other people alone
* Concentrate on your part

* Try and make the performance real

When I am speaking, I need to say it out loud and use lots of expression. I need to concentrate on my part and not anyone else. I also need to put lots of effort into my part and not let the class down on the actual night.

Should Panmure Bridge School have a cafeteria? By Angel

Should P.B.S have a school cafeteria?
I believe that Panmure Bridge should have a school cafeteria because it gives an opportunity for a person or student in the community a job.

Firstly, cafeterias can serve healthy foods including sandwiches, fruits, veggies and many more. Healthy foods can give your body and brain the energy to play sports and to get motivated in your learning. The healthy foods that are served in the cafeterias can help the students think straight in their learning. Cafeterias can serve much more healthy food then the shops where you buy pies and chips.

Secondly, It could give an opportunity to a person or a student in the community a job. It can help students count the up the money and learn how to give change back. They also learn how to learn how to serve food and make the foods.

Thirdly, it can save lots of money for parents. Some shops sell food that kids love and adore, but it might be too expensive. In a cafeteria it can save parents lots of money . Some parents might not have that much money to buy their child's lunch at the shops. Some cafeterias might sell foods that are really cheap.

Overall I think that Panmure Bridge School should have a cafeteria because the cafeteria can sell healthy foods, it can give an opportunity to a person or student in the community a job and it could save parents a lot of money. Those are my three reasons why Panmure Bridge School should have a cafeteria.

My floor plan By Angel

This is my floor plan on my ideal classroom. If our school were given lots of money to spend on a classroom, these are some things I would like to have. I think that we should have an art area because if your spill dye on the carpet it might not be easy to get it of, it could be easier if you had a lino floor covering. In the art room it has a sink and a  cupboard connected, so you can store some paint, dye and paintbrushes in it and you could also wash the paintbrushes in the sink.  I would like to have a teacher aide room because it might be a waste of time taking a group from your class all the way to the other side of the school to work. I also think that we should have a teacher aide room because if the teacher worked in a classroom with a group/student the class might be too noisy for you to concentrate in. In The teacher aide room has a table to put your work on and chairs to sit on. I think that we should have a reading room because it is a nice place to sit and relax and read a book. In the reading room it has some beanbags and a book shelf for books. Next to the computers I have put a couch and an aquarium with fish in it. Next to the interactive whiteboard is the net-book cupboard. The teachers desk is opposite the computers. The aquarium diagonally across to the exit door. I hope you all enjoyed reading about some new things I would like in our classroom.

My Speech: Should animals be used for scientific research By Angel

Animals have something in common with humans, that thing is feelings. How would it feel like if you were taken away from your home and your family just for a scientific research? How would it feel like being in a weird scary room with needles being pricked into your body? Well, this is what some of the animals are experiencing.

Why do some scientists do research on animals?, why can’t they do it on other things? Some people think that the information that the scientists are gathering is quite entertaining including me, but the main source of the information is animals and how they are being treated. Animals shouldn’t be treated this way for research. If you think that going to the doctors and getting a blood test hurts, that is nothing to animals who are used for research, animals even get killed.

According to animal testing statistics about 13.4 million cats and dogs are put to death each year. 19.5 million are killed each year in research. The most common animal that is used in research are rabbits which equals a total of 245,786 rabbits. Each year about 70 million animals are blinded, scalded, force - fed chemicals and hurt or killed. 61% of animals suffer in no pain. Lots of different animals are tested. Tigers, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, sheep and many more. Approximately 170,000 hamsters are used in research each year. Several animal tests are commonly performed on rabbits, rats, mice and guinea pigs. Did you know that 92% of experimental drugs that are and safe on animals fail to work on humans because they are too dangerous or they won't work.

God created animals for a reason. Animals are really fun to play with. I simply love animals. Scientists should stop using animals for their testing and start caring for them. It would be such a shame for me and other animal lovers to see how many dogs, cats and other species die each year through research. In conclusion, I strongly believe that animal testing should stop so the world can be a safer place for both animals and humans.

My classroom scale plan By Angel

This is my classroom scale drawing. Miss Paton’s cupboard is diagonally across the back door. The teacher’s desk is opposite the sink in the art area. The back door is connected to the wall but the front door is not. Miss Paton’s other cupboard is opposite the bookshelf. The whiteboard is opposite one of the computers. The rubbish bin is diagonally across the towels in the art area.

My argument on should we wear a uniform at Panmure Bridge School? By Angel

Should we wear a school uniform at Panmure Bridge School

Should we wear a school uniform at Panmure Bridge School. I think we should because it shows that we are representing our school.

Firstly, you can be identified by your school uniform. If you get lost in a crowd someone can identify you if you’re wearing a school uniform. Your school uniform also represents the school that you are from. If you are in dangerous situations someone can recognize you by your school uniform.

Secondly, If you bring your clothes from home they may get ripped or damaged. Your school uniform is made out of a hard wearing durable materials, so that they can last for a long time and your younger siblings can wear them. If your clothes from home get dirty you may need to use a special kind of liquid or washing powder. Your uniform does not need any special kind of washing powder or liquid because they can go into the washing machine.

Thirdly, You can create a competition from your mufti.  When you wear your mufti clothes from home someone might like and steal them from you. If someone brings some really cool shoes or clothes to school hey can be really hard for some students whose parents are struggling with money. If you bring your good mufti clothes from home you can get bullied because some people might like your clothes and bully you for your clothes.

Overall I think school uniforms are best for parents.  Your school uniform it made out of hard wearable material, you won’t get bullied and other schools can identify you.
