Our big adventure to the Waitakere Dam

Today Tuesday April 27th, we went to the Waitakere Dam. We had a lovely bush walk and went on the Rainforest Express Train. Our group was very lucky with the weather as we did our bush walk in the morning and went on the train in the afternoon. It rained heavily when we were on the train. We had a great day and here is a presentation of our photos. Enjoy.

Setting the purpose

Today we looked at the question: Why do you come to school? We wanted to find out the reasons why, as this created a purpose in coming to school. Check out our Voice Thread on our answers to this question. There are more answers to come on the subject Learning. What it is, what it looks like, feels like and sounds like. Check out the other slides on Learning, after setting the purpose.

A new year, a new class

Welcome to the new Room 3. Today we started back at school for 2010. It was an exciting day for learning about each other. This year Room 3, is made up of 21 Year 2 children. The children are happy to be back and are looking forward to learning lots in literacy and in e-learning. During this term you will get to know our Podcast Artists and see / hear their amazing work. 2010, marks a new school uniform-new plaid clots for the girls and grey cargo shorts for the boys. Very smart.

Exciting changes lie ahead

This is the last 2009 posting. The class of 2009 (Room 3) have moved up a year level and as a result they will be getting a new teacher. This site will continue but with a new class. This is an exciting opportunity for you our audience, as you will get to see and hear more of the fantastic literacy talent from our students at Panmure Bridge School. These students will be new to movie making and podcasting. Check out their work during the year and join them through their Learning Journey.

To the class of 2009, the founding members of this site "Creative Voice", I wish them all the very best for 2010 and thank them all for the wonderful contributions made to this site. It has been a wonderful year and feel proud that your hard work in literacy is being watched and listened to in New Zealand and around the world. Feel proud of your achievements. Good luck for the year ahead. As you are now excellent reflectors of learning, feel free to make comments on any the work you see in 2010.

Best Wishes,

Miss J. Paton

The Message

Want to know what the exciting message was in the bottle. Then find out from Teams: Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta. If you feel disappointed or confused by the message, then check out tomorrow's new challenge.

Challenge 1: Message in a Bottle

To answer whether our friend Toddy the Chocolate Brown Labrador Puppy went missing we had to complete Challenge 1. Firstly, Miss Paton our teacher had to divide us into teams.

The first team was called Alpha. The Alpha Team consisted of Caitlin (captain), Reon, Savannah, Pace and Creedence.
The second team was called Beta. The Beta Team consisted of Thomas (captain), Teina, Deziree, Dante and Germaine.
The third team was called Gamma. The Gamma team consisted of Yvette (captain), Oh S'mar, Marama, Amato, Liantre and Khorus.
The forth team was called Delta. The Delta team consisted of Mary (captain), Patrick, Fine, Oxsanah and Ducati.

The Challenge for each team was finding a brown Ginger Beer bottle that was hidden around the school. The bottle had a message inside it. Each team was given one clue on the where abouts of their bottle. Let's check out the movies.
