Room 5's Reflection

Art - What I like about this year is that we did lots of art. Our artwork was based on the theme African animals. I liked this activity because we got to trace out our animals onto a piece of paper and then we painted the background to match the colour of a sunset. My animal that I used was a hippo. I used a hippo because it was easy to trace around and cut out. 

 Drama - I also like when we have drama with Mrs Eeles. In drama we learn about freeze frames and we play a game called survival. It is a game where you have to walk around and when Mrs Eeles says a number like 4 you have to get into a group of 4 and if there are any people left out they will get disqualified.

 Interclass Sports - This year we have been competing against room 7 in a lot of sporting events. Our first sport was softball, soccer, uni hockey and netball. Each game is either boys vs boys or girls vs girls. This year I have been involved in every sport against room 7. We have won 2 shields but recently bate room 7 at netball. We are beginning to start cricket and I can’t wait because I am playing for room 5’s cricket team.

Miss Paton said that we had to do a statistical investigation. We got to chose a topic and I chose room 5's birthday's. Then we had to do a graph, The highest month is May, the reason why it is so high because lots of people we born on May. The least highest was January because not that many people were born in January. My favourite month is July because my birthday is celebrated during this month.

What I did over the weekend By Lavinia

What I did in the weekend

It was Saturday morning the sun was shining brightly. I got dressed and my uncle picked me up and my cousin was in the car. We went to Sylvia Park and walked all the to Kiwi Yo. What I had from Kiwi Yo was I had a Red Velvet ice cream, MnM's, Whipped cream, Brownies, Oreo's and hot Chocolate sauce. It was so YUMMY!!!!!.  Once me and my cousin had finished our ice creams we went Super Bowl. When we got there there was loud music and disco lights flashing it was cool.  We got 22 tokens each the game I loved the most was Deal or no Deal there was many other games I loved but that was my favourite. We had to go home after that It was such a fun day.

Then my six cousins (including me) and my aunty went over to my cousins house. We had dinner, for dinner we had pizza it was DELICIOUS!!!!. I was so full after that I was so tired I was the first one to go to sleep. I was the first one to wake up in the morning, then all of us went to the pools we spent a long time there. I was in the middle of the wave part it was so fun it was going up and down up and down, but we had to leave once we all got dressed.  Then we were hungry so we decided to go and have some lunch. We got Fish n Chips and we went to the Park the sun was shining I felt so hot I felt like I was in an oven. Once we finished our food we play some games like Octopus and Stuck in the mud and relays and many more other games. I t was such a fun day I would do it again.

What I did today By Lavinia

Today my aunt my seven cousins and I went to the pools. It was only a short drive, so we got there and we went inside. Once we got inside I was so ready to jump into the pool.  Then we were allowed to go into the pool it was so warm inside that pool, then we went to find a clear space.  We were doing relays and competitions  we were there for a long time but it was time to go I didn't want to go but we had to.  It was a long day I felt tired. After that we went to the shops to go and get some fish n chips they were yum, after that I felt so full and tired I went and had a sleep.

My Holiday Story By Lavinia

During the holidays it was my birthday. In the morning I woke up and my mum and dad gave me my present I loved it because I got some tops and some pants.  After that my mum and I drove down to my auntie's house and I got some more presents. Next my family and I went to Burger King for breakfast it tasted good.

Next we went to Pak N Save and got some lollies and chocolates with my three cousins. Then we went to Sylvia Park to go to watch Despicable me 2.   It was funny throught the whole movie my favourite part of the movie was all of it I couldn’t decide which was my favourite. I had such a fun day so we drove back to my auntie’s house and she made this mouthwatering delicious, cake when I tasted it was like I dipped in a chocolate fountain.

I had a great day but the day didn’t even end yet.  So me my mum and my dad went out to this restaurant called the Langham it was so fancy. When I walked in there was this big bright chandelier then I walked through a little passage and then a another chandelier and a big chat area a wine display the I kept on walking I saw people sitting waiters serving them and people eating fancy food.

So we took our seats and once that was done I could smell the amazing food. I just couldn’t wait to eat.  The waiter poured the water in our glasses and then I was allowed to go and eat. Then I walked in I saw a desert area, sushi area, curry area, meat area, seafood area and a bar. I saw what was in the desert area and there was a big chocolate fountain and there were other little desserts it was so cool.

 I tried some crumbed squid rings with lemon and lime all over them they were divine, after that I went over to the dessert area I got a piece of cake that was yum then I had some lamb cutlets and eggs after that I had some prawns, I had so much food I couldn't remember what I had ate it was such a great day, then I got a cake which it had on it “Happy Birthday Lavinia” and it had some chocolates to I had an amazing day and an amazing evening it was the best birthday ever!

      

Should Panmure Bridge School have a cafeteria? By Lavinia

Should Panmure Bridge School have a cafeteria

I believe that we should not have a cafeteria at Panmure Bridge School because. Cafeteria/tuck shops might be all yum with all the fat foods that they provide but do we look at the real question how much are students are eating in the tuck shop

Firstly, To be honest as a Year 6 student I believe that we should not have a cafeteria because. Children may not be allowed to eat the food in the cafeteria or the might be allergic to the food in the cafeteria say for example the oil in the food might be from pigs fat and students might to be allowed to eat or might be allergic to the pigs fat or they may not allowed to eat beef.

Secondly I believe that should not have a cafeteria because. Children can become obese and that’s not good at all. There may be healthy foods in the cafeteria but there may be junk foods in the cafeteria, did you know that 2003-2004 children and teens 2-19 years old were overweight. The students parents want them to be healthy.

Thirdly I believe that we should not have a cafeteria because. It would encourage students to steal money off other children. That would lead to fighting, theft and chaos and many more horrible disasters.  The parents would would get angry at the school from children stealing their child’s money that they gave to them.

Overall I feel strongly that we should not have a cafeteria children might be allergic to the food in the cafeteria,students can become obese and it can lead to theft those are my main reasons why we should not have a cafeteria. Do you think that we should have a cafeteria.

Should we wear a uniform at Panmure Bridge School?

Should we wear a uniform at Panmure Bridge School. I think we should wear a uniform because it represents our school.

Firstly I believe that we should wear a school uniform because.  When you are going to a sporting event or a special event where you represent your school you won’t get mixed up between another school. Also you look smart, neat and tidy.You won’t ruin your home clothes if you get dirty. You also can look proud in your school uniform, as it respects your school .

Secondly I feel strongly that we should wear a school uniform because your belongings can get stolen.  For an example you left your leather jacket on your desk, someone can steal it. If one of your friends are wearing Nike shoes they can create competition, where parents feel pressured by their children to purchase labelled clothing. But if you wear a school uniform no one will steal it, if it is named.

Thirdly I believe that we should wear a school uniform because. If you are wearing your school uniform and you’re in an accident it would be easily recognizable wearing your school uniform. My teacher Miss Paton told us this story about when she was at high school. A sixth form student was cycling to school and then she collided with a bus and truck.  She instantly died. The bus driver and the truck driver and other witnesses knew which school she came from. If she didn’t wear her school uniform then it would be harder for people involved.

I believe that we should wear a school because if you have a school uniform everybody will look the same. It won’t be a competition and everybody will feel that they belong and be equal. No one will feel unwanted so that’s why I feel that we should wear a school uniform at Panmure Bridge School.
